Romance in Bloom
A tribute to femininity was celebrated by Carla Bill from festum artis and photographer Suzy Curtis, as they recently played with all the attributes of a young woman: grace and beauty, seduction and innocence, naturalness and sensuality. Focused on the essentials and yet anything but minimalistic.
“Since I’m in the wedding industry myself, I wanted to do a shoot that´s all about the woman of interest.” Carla Bill, owner of the festum artis shop in Basel told us. “In Suzy Curtis I quickly found an ally, her style and her skills are a real gem.”
Two artists in tune with each other. And so they soon turned the Petershof in Basel into an oasis of feminine art: “We soon realized that we wanted to draw a gentle portrait of a woman who soon binds herself forever, but without loosing their own personality and style.”
We all have a past without which we would not be who we are. Also this bride has her own story which Carla and Suzy told through selected details. It all started with the perfect location: “Similar to the experiences of a previous life the setting should also have a story and character. And so we decided to shoot at a traditional and history-rich antiquarian bookshop in Basel.”
Even the chosen color palette was anything but ordinary. Strong red paired with delicate rose and earthy tones. Refreshed by radiant white. Due to the daily routine in her wedding decoration and stationery business, Carla Bill’s grasp for the right design elements is confidently stylish. And she also knows about flowers, as her breathtaking arrangements prove impressively.
In the end, this day was peppered with a touch of boudoir, a whiff of romance, a pinch of seduction and loads of inspiration for indecisive but self-confident brides.
Carla Bill sees it similarly: “The result was a portrait of a young woman who feels comfortable about herself, is aware of her nature and her individual sensuality and is in absolute harmony with herself.”
